Cécile Ganne is a French contemporary landscape artist based in Boston, Massachusetts. She grew up painting with her maternal grandmother in the Dordogne Valley of Southern France, but it was not until she was diagnosed with cancer that she returned to her brushes with renewed vigor. No longer merely a skill to be honed, painting became a way to breathe through her long convalescence. This newfound sense of mortality created an extreme urgency in her work: the catalyst to explore, learn, and to create daily with childlike curiosity.

Her work resides in private collections in the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. She also enjoys collaborating with artists at SoWa who exhibit the same playful approach to their creative process. When not painting, Cécile is teaching French at Wellesley College, where she is a Lecturer.
